As the Quonset Hut Underground Shelter idea started way back in 2010, Dave realized, there has to be a better way to build an underground shelter due to the extreme cost increase of Quonset Hut Structures since 2010. He spent months coming up with a new concept! This started around August 2024.

After going through all the price comparisons between a Quonset Hut and his new (never-before done design), he pulled the trigger to start excavating around Mid-September 2024 and constructing the building. Due to numerous reasons, he waited till Spring to Shotcrete & finished the entire structure with zero issues.

The rest is history and shown in all the photographs and videos we are sharing here and on YouTube.

In reality, if you had all materials on site, you could build, construct, and backfill this entire structure within two months or less depending on who is building. The other major factor is that this is 50% easier to build than a Quonset Hut and a lot more options for expanding your structure, if desired, in the future!
